SHADOW HUNTER CLASS LINE CRUISER - 260 Points

Based on a conversion by Dropship 40K

Eldar ships have long had some of the most advanced energy weapons in the galaxy. Their "Pulsar Lances" are capable of firing multiple, ultra high-energy bursts into an enemy target where a human made lance might only score a glancing hit. However, few Eldar ships have ever exploited the true power of this technology. During the Gothic war, Lord Admiral Ravensburg rallied all the Eldar of the sector to fund the design and construction of the "Void Stalker" class of Battleships. This ship rates at level 4 prow lances: 2 front/left, 2 front/right.

It seems, however, that the Eldar of the Ulthwé craftworld developed a capital ship with even more powerful prow lances some time before the Gothic war. The name translates roughly into "Hunter Ship of the Line". This ship is larger than traditional Eldar cruisers, yet not as large as the Void Stalker, making it somewhat equivlent to a grand cruiser. There is only one large weapon system: a long-range pulsar lance which rates at level 5: as powerful as the lances of a small craftworld.

Despite the precarious position of their race, the Eldar of Ulthwé seem unwilling to share this technology with anyone but the residents of other craftworlds, and even then there are exceptions (see standing dispute with Alaitoc over planet LVX-11/a-3 "Kalamir").

During the rare joint operations between Imperial and Ulthwé forces, passive sensor scans taken by Imperial ships seem to indicate a central power generation system that is smaller, but simillar to the one used by the infamous Chaos "Planet Killer". Given Ulthwé's proximity to the Eye of Terror, it is possible that Abaddon the Despoiler's forces may have stolen the hulk of a Shadow Hunter cruiser. This would explain how they acquired the technology to create such an immensely powerful energy weapon.

Notes: Any Line Cruisers in your fleet must be supported by two standard Eldar cruisers (6 or less hits).

In addition, you must choose a craftworld for your fleet to represent, Ulthwé would never share this powerful technology with mere pirates. Pick one of the folowing: Ulthwé, Biel-Tan, Saim-Hann, or Iyanden (due to the current tension with Alaitoc-Ulthwé relations, Alaitoc may not field this vessel). Your fleet must be painted appropriately.
